Hello, I’m Andrea Entwistle, founder of A1 Quality Care.
I have worked in the disability field for over 20 years and during that time I have seen how much good support can change a person’s day, confidence and quality of life.
My approach to support work is warm, practical and person-centred. I believe care should feel respectful, calm and consistent, while still allowing space for choice, independence, humour and everyday joy. Whether I am supporting someone with daily living, community access, personal care or more complex needs, my focus is always on dignity, safety and genuine connection.
One of the things I love most about support work is knowing that I can make a real difference in someone’s day. I often go home with a full heart, knowing I have been able to support someone, make things a little easier and bring comfort, confidence or joy into their everyday life.
Through A1 Quality Care, I bring together professional experience, lived understanding and a family-centred approach. I know how important it is for families to feel reassured that their loved one is supported by someone who cares, listens and understands the bigger picture.
I am also incredibly proud to now be joined by my daughter Jess as we expand this part of A1 Quality Care Support Services. Together, we bring both professional and personal experience, as well as a shared understanding of what it means to care for loved ones. It is very special to see this service grow as a family-oriented support service built on trust, compassion and genuine connection.

I’m a mum of two beautiful girls and I have been surrounded by the disability and care sector for most of my life through my parents’ work and experience. I think this is why support work felt like such a natural path for me. After finishing school, I followed that calling, completed my qualifications and began working hands-on in support roles.
Over the past 4 years, I have supported elderly clients, children and young parents living with disability. I really love being able to make someone’s day easier, calmer or more enjoyable. For me, support work is not just about completing tasks. It is about connection, patience, encouragement and helping people feel safe, respected and understood.
I am now proud to be joining Mum through A1 Quality Care Support Services, where we bring together professional skills, family values and lived experience. As a family, we also understand what it means to care for loved ones, so our approach is warm, practical and genuinely family-centred.
I look forward to supporting local clients and families with kindness, respect and a friendly smile.
